Buy Now, Wear Forever: Cowboy Boots

We have been banging on forever about over love for the ever cool cowboy - it's one of those trends that comes round every few seasons - boot but AW18 truly is the season of the western boot. Fendi led the way with those achingly brilliant monogrammed knee high versions, Isabel Marant went wild for Western and Casadei embellished for a little glam. The moral of the story? They never date, they never die. So we give you our dream edit (read: if we had all the money in the world, these would be the ones we'd snap up) of the best out there to buy now and wear always.

You can trust Margiela to come up with the most subtle wearable version of the trend that still oozes cool. This wedged pair would look just as great with a minimal dress as teamed with high waist cropped denim.

Danish brand Ganni knows how to always put a cool spin on a classic and these boots are just that. Where with an oversized boiler suit tucked in and a big helping of sass.

For those who prefer a minimal nod to the trend (rather than all-out-line-dancing-fun) Givenchy's cowboy boots are simple but still effective. These are an investment but, trust us, will not leave your feet all season.

Boots, £965, Givenchy

Fendi's case for the cowboy boot was strong in their AW18 show where they showcase their classic design in poppy brights like this yellow along side full length monogrammed styles. Worn under a dress a la Bettina Looney they look like the most modern take on the trend we think we've ever seen.

For those who don't like to do things by halves (or ever quarters) we give you Dolce & Gabbana's take on the cowboy boot. Killing two AW trends with one stone they are gloriously leopard and we think super chic with a black mini dress all winter long.
